Hi there - does Rhino 5 have an equivalent of the old ScaleEdge tool?

Hi Marty- edges in V5 can be selected ( as well as faces in a polysurface) using ‘sub-object selection’ (Ctrl-Shift select) Then normal transform commands like Scale, Move, Rotate etc., as well as the Gumball, will work on the selected sub-objects.
