Hello, today I updated from MacOS Catalina to Ventura and I’m having troubles running Rhino. The version 5.5.5. crashes just after the start, so I tried the 5.2.1. and it kind of run, but when I open Preferences or quit the Rhino it crashes too. I know that the 5 is old version now, but is there any way to run it under current MacOS? I was quite happy with my version and I don’t want to buy new license just to run the app. Thank you in advance.
Hi:
That’s not a supported platform for V5:
I’m sorry to hear that. So there are only two alternatives? Downgrade the system or buying new license? Is there at least any information about Rhino 8 release date? I don’t want to buy v7 license just a few months before the new release.
You can keep using your older computer that meets the System Reqirements, upgrade your license to V7, or wait until next year sometime when V8 is released.
If this is an Intel CPU Mac, downgrading to Mojave is probably your best option for now.
you can still use a virtual machine like for instance parallels to run older apps if you otherwise would like to keep the newer system
here a link explaining it briefly
