Hello,
I have been stuck at this for a while and I hope someone can help. I am trying to connect the points as shown in the picture
however I am achieving this at the moment
and I have attempted to flip data tree, and shift the data tree but I can’t seem to get it working.
I have uploaded a sample file, I hope it’s straight forward!
Sample file.gh (58.8 KB)
the point trick is to organize each point group into a separate list, and connect accordingly
Sample file[fixed].gh (10.2 KB)

Ah thank you so much. I am having a little trouble applying what you have done to all the other elements in the file, as you can see there are many others when when I follow the same set-up I am getting the lines connecting everywhere…

That’s so great! One more thing, if I want all the sections connected like shown in the image, how would that go?
Diana Fox:
One more thing
I see what you did there. Just a trivial “by the way” thing, right?

I’ve been stuck at it and can’t seem to fill in the other sides
and chatGPT is not helping
please help
As if I know how to do it. I don’t. There might be more elegant ways…

It wasn’t obvious or done by rote. I use simple tools to investigate data trees, described here:
In addition to temporary text panels and the Point List component, these are the tools I use to visualize and understand data trees of geometry:

data_tree_tools_2022_Nov3a.gh (46.6 KB)
Recently I added ‘A’ (alpha) inputs and ‘C’ (color) outputs to ColorB and ColorJ but I rarely need them or use them.
They tend to interfere with each other so I often use them one at a time.
