Reshaping a mesh to follow a new curve

Hey everyone,

I have an existing mesh (I did not make) here (green) converted into a polysrf and tried to make contour lines every 100mm for accuracy. What I would like to solve is how to maintain the topography but in a form of a new shape (red). I’ve already tried patch with not much luck either…been trying everything for a week now…a method or script would help tremendously and would be greatly appreciated!!!

FYI I’ve used Rhino 5/6 and am new to 7/8 so I am unfamiliar if SubD is what I need and would like to avoid if possible due to time constrains

I did some repairs and then extracted the vertices in Grasshopper and ran MeshFromPoints in Rhino. You can extend this mesh by adding faces or dragging naked edges.

Thank you so much for your help. Could explain what extracting the vertices in Grasshopper does?

For some reason I couldn’t extract the vertices in Rhino. I tried some other things in Grasshopper but everything else failed.

_ExtractPt would be the command in Rhino

I see so I can use Extract Points and drag them outward towards my boundaries (curves)?

No, I extracted the points to create a mesh from points. You’d go ahead and drag the boundary or control points along the edge of the new mesh so it goes over the red perimeter. Then use the red perimeter to trim the edited mesh.
