Repeatable crash

Everytime I try the command “Restore to new floating viewport” from a named view, Rhino crashes:

No problem here in Rhino 8, 8.4.24009.13521

I was not setup to install release candidates.
I installed it and now Rhino won’t start at all… Rhino.exe shows up in the Task Manager but vanishes after 2 seconds.

hey marc, make sure windows is fully updated- (you may need to run windows update several times as some updates rely on others to be in place 1st. )

try rhino again.

no luck?

try the .net repair tool here-

https://download.microsoft.com/download/2/B/D/2BDE5459-2225-48B8-830C-AE19CAF038F1/NetFxRepairTool.exe

restart and try Rhino again.

still no luck?

repair your vc runtime library with this tool-

https://aka.ms/vs/17/release/vc_redist.x64.exe

restart try Rhino again.

still no luck?

Hi Kyle,
FYI Rhino 8.3.24009.15001 was working fine (except the crash I reported). It’s the release candidate that refuses to start.
I won’t be able to update Windows, I do not manage the computer, but I’ll try the rest.

let us know how it goes or if you need an installer for the older cut again.

I used the .NET repair tool, restarted, tried to start Rhino - not working.
Then I saw the installer… started it and tried “repair”. It worked!

But then, the crash I reported is still there. Can’t use “Restore to new floating viewport” without Rhino saying goodbye.

Hi Marc -

I see you’re running a few 3rd party plug-ins. What happens when you disable those and then restart Rhino?

Okay…
It seems like it’s the Cyberstrak plug-in…
