Rendering panel and Raytraced viewport

In the Rendering panel there are a lot of settings, which are immediately seen in the Raytraced viewport.
Like Transparent Background etc.

But the Quality setting has no effect in the viewport.

I’d expect this setting is valid for the Raytraced viewport as well.

But no.
Always the strange 1000, which is cumbersome to change in a very different place.

Hi @Charles
Do you know, that you can change the sample setting by just clicking final sample number at the bottom of the raytraced viewport? You don’t need to go into settings.

I know.
Nevertheless the panel has an inconsistent influence on the viewport.

Agreed! Just making sure you knew  But I agree - a setting for keeping the two values in sync would be nice!

That particular setting is for the production render. Scroll down to the advanced settings, that is where you find the setting that corresponds to what is used in the Raytraced view.

And there you can also override the production render setting! Geez, never knew that… or maybe I did and just forgot… it’s getting harder to tell :joy:
Thanks for chiming in, @jesterking and hope you’re happy and doing well!
Regards, Jakob

Ok…
The Quality setting is next to Color.
It’s confusing that settings like Environment and Color etc. act immediately in the Raytraced viewport and not in production render only.

You are right that the GUI is… confusing.
