I’m struggling to get my softened edges in my chosen rendermesh quality/resultion (very fine). Rhino meshes everything correctly but not the softened edges (they always have the same “standard” resolution)
Does anyone have a solution for this?

No, softened edges are only a visual trick: simple edge geometry and specifically set up normals.
If you require better results you need to actually fillet edges.

I thought that could be extracted though. I’m trying to find threads I’ve seen. brb.
Hmm maybe I was dreaming you could
Maybe you know this, if not, consider Edge Softening.

… obviously this is just a cheap trick and good only sometimes for aesthetical preview… OT.
…if you put it that way it seems Rhino started doing thing worse than in past. It’s not, but the progress in this matter is small to none.
Rhino 8 today can’t do fillets as good as other software did in 2010… and even surfacing tools are somewhat stagnant.
