Relocate revit project with respect to "Rhino Inside" objects

I’m working in both Revit and Rhino, but unfortunately the origin points are different. I’d like to be able to move all my revit objects in the x and y coordinates so that it can line up with where my geometry is in Rhino. Moving the Rhino objects is a lot easier, but unfortunately that is not an option in this case.
I’ve tried the “relocate project” button in Revit, but doing that moves the Rhino Inisde geometry as well. Any ideas? Thanks very much.

Hi Harry,

If i understand correctly you want to relate Revit geometry that is at a different custom project location back to the shared 0,0.

You can use the Orient3D component to move Geometry (Breps,…) to the Rhino location. If you are looking to move the entire Revit Project that is best handled in the Revit UI.

If that is not the case can you put together a small example of what you are trying to do? Thanks

Thanks for your quick response, Japhy!
Yes ideally I was hoping to do this in the revit UI, but this has proved quite difficult, so the orient3D in grasshopper actually might be a great solution.
The reason for all this is that the rhino project was created first, and most of our renders are using the rhino project’s location. The Revit project was made afterwards to assist in some modeling of building details, but unfortunately was not coordinated with the Rhinno coordinates. Now I’m trying to get a good workflow going between the two programs.

Thanks again for your help,
Harry

Hi again, one question about this: i’m trying to keep my phases separate, and when I use this orient component, i am no longer able to export the model objects to different layers by phase. i’m using the script from this post here: any way to combine these two ideas? thanks!

These workflows are compatible, although you may need to manage your branches.

If you provide more information i can help
