Real wall heights of extended walls

Hello,

When a wall is extended at top or bottom, it appears that VA is not reporting the actual height of the wall in the properties dialog or in tables.

Is this a bug?

Hi @lignindes,

The “Height” property is an editable value to specify the height of the wall to be used in parts of the wall that are not extended, or when the wall is not extended. Try to move the top surface so it doesn’t cover the entire wall.

It is not a computed value. Maybe we can add a computed value “Effective Height”, which will be the distance between the bottommost point and the topmost point.

@enric,

Thanks for the reply. Could the Height field read as “By Style (x’-x”)" if the wall doesn’t have any extension modifications and as it’s true effective height represented simply as “x’-x”" if there are extensions?

Are there any plans in the future to be able to set wall base/top elevations to be associated to VA levels (similar to what happens in Revit ( :sleepy:))?

Dan

Hi @lignindes,

No, the property “Height” should be modifiable, and “By Style” should be an option. Remember that when a wall is extended, some parts of the wall may not be extended, and VisualARQ needs to know which height to use in those parts.

Yes, that’s a planned feature for VisualARQ 3.

@enric,

Thanks for the reply.

So do you think that VA3 will have both a field for ‘effective height’ along with the ability to associate wall bottoms/tops to levels?

Thanks,

Dan
