is there a way to set up default settings for Rhino defaut material?
Default being 255,255,255 white is a problem in lets say v ray rendering as it is pure white that makes GI, and expositions incorrect, rather than white IRL might be 220,220,220 (example).
Only way to make it correct is to attach material to every object, even though they are not important and diagramatic white (not 255) would be enough, or to use material overide and then unclick “can be overriden” on every material. Both approaches need extra clicks after either adding a material or object.
Maybe it would be nice in R9 to be able to change Default material properties?
I agree that this could be a good option for Rhino, so +1 from me.
We usually add a colored material to the default layer since the default material setting for an object is “by layer”, but here as well it would be nice to be able to set the color of the default material that Rhino adds to all new layers.
IMO this should be the same single setting since “default material color” would then apply to both objects when a material is added, and to new layers.
Changing Default layer material doesnt solve the problem, because often times I need to have object in different layer but its not important enough to have material attached.
