R.I.R. - Marking elements in a sequential order, despite placement order

Hi all,

I am trying to get my marks to be attributed to the correct revit element. Currently the marks assigned jump around depending on when the element was placed (I.E. C1, C4, C9,…), I want to be able to control the marks in an ordered sequential fashion by selecting my elements and having them sorted somehow (I.E. C1, C2, C3,…)

I am unsure what the best method is to approach how to sort these elements. I think there is a method through the element parameters to find something that would be able to dictate when elements were placed and to sort them so they can be ordered, but I have been unsuccessful in that regard. Another option was trying to get the lengths of the elements (they are columns) and attempt to get their lengths but that also didn’t work out.

There is a new component called pick elements that might be useful in this case.

Thank @Japhy for taking the time to test and find the solution. Since Rhino objects are combined from surfaces, some data that is assigned to boxes/surfaces will be missing when exploded/trimmed and re-joined.
