Not sure how behind I am on this but, is there a way to protect your files so no one can edit and save ASIDE from being in a read-only/open file ?
kind of like the illustrator option where you need a password…
Hello - nope, there is not. One thing that may help in some cases is to send out a coarsely meshed version of the file - not surfaces.

I saw this type of questions many times I think it can be usefull to lock a file, maybe adding a password inside a Block definition? so is not possible to edit or explode it without it? just wondering.
I believe the conclusion here was that there is no reasonable way to do this with enough real security not to be misleading in the claim.
