As per subject, is there a way to open a file as read only?
I thought there was a command or checkbox when opening a file but it seems I’m mistaken.

not on a windows puter right now, but i believe its right click on the file in windows then go to properties - somewhere in general probably you can check read only.

This is a long standing wish. Please add my +1 to this.
We often open a 3D file when working on the 2D plan and it would be great to be able to open a file as in “read only mode” to prevent any accedental save on close.
(This is important if one user works in the 3D file and saves the changes and closes the file before the “viewing person” accidentally closes and saves over with the unaltered file)
