proRender: applying thickness of 0.01 produces artifacts

Applying a thickness of 0.01 units to a glass object consistently produces interesting artifacts as shown in the image below:

You may want to set the ray offset to 0.001. The thickness is the ray offset by default, so you see here essentially z-buffer fighting: sometimes the ray starts on the inside, sometimes on the outside of the object with thickness.
