Problems with Proxy and the cloud zoo

Hey,

we use Rhino 7 with cloud zoo licensing on some notebooks. When connected to our LAN the laptops have to use a proxy server. This is working.
When the laptops are not in the LAN but on wifi they are not able to connect to the proxy server and they don’t have to. The problem here is that rhino does not seem to be able to deal with this. When it tries to reach the cloud zoo server it shows:

“An unexpected error occured. McNeel’s license servers could not be reached (Der Remotename konnte nicht aufgelöst werden: ‘ourproxy.domain’). Please make sure you are connected to the internet.”

My desired behavior would be that Rhino would ignore the proxy server when it is not available and tries to connect directly to the license servers. Is there a way?

Best
Carsten

Hi Carsten -

Rhino is simply using internet access that the Windows OS provides. It sounds like something like a firewall is blocking this access and that’s something that needs to be dealt with on the machine or local wifi network.
