Problem with font display

Hi,

I’ve noticed that the font used in the gh definition doesn’t match the font displayed in the expoerted files from the Shapediver App. I’m using Squid’s Font Creator. Is it possible to create a list of which font number corresponds to the one in the Shapediver App or iss there another way to solve this problem?

It is possible that you are referencing a font you have installed locally, but that isn’t available on the ShapeDiver servers. Without more information, it is difficult for me to help futher. Could you include a minimal definition showing the problem you are mentioning?

I understand. Is there a list of fonts supported by the server somewhere? I’m interested in the single line font, meaning one suitable for the cutter.

I repeat my request, I am using the font list component which contains a list of fonts, but the selected font has nothing to do with the one displayed in the model on the SD server.

e.g. font ISOCT3 with index 93 the text is converted to curves in the gh definition but after when I export file on the SD server the text is generated using a different font.

I try SLF-RHN Architect supported by Rhino but the same problem.

The font list component lists the fonts installed on your local machine.

Read more about font support on ShapeDiver here: Which fonts are supported on ShapeDiver?

The font browser for the Rhino 8 system does not exist yet. I will add it, but in the meanwhile you can look for the fonts installed on the Rhino 7 system, they should be identical.

Ok, so II need this font

Is this font available?

https://www.shapediver.com/app/m/font-browser-sdr7euc1

Something is displayed here. II have selected this font from list in gh definition , but after export a different one is used.

Hi, I returning to the correct font display. In definition as you can see the font selected and displayed in GH is different than on the Shapediver server.

font test.gh (8.9 KB)

The fonts you see locally in Grasshopper are the ones installed on your computer, they do not correspond to the fonts installed on any other computer, including the ShapeDiver servers.

We cannot install the font you requested on the shared servers, because it comes with a paid license (it would be possible on an Enterprise server, provided that you purchase the appropriate license).

There are other single-line fonts suitable for engraving on ShapeDiver, for example SLF-RHN Architect, which ships with Rhino:

You can use this link to search for all available fonts on the Rhino 8 servers:

https://www.shapediver.com/app/m/font-browser-sdr8euc1

I understand that only free fonts can be used, but even though I select one, the server displays a different one. I suspect this may be due to the font’s index number on my computer and the number on the server?

The index of the font is specific to your local environment, it will not be the same on another machine. If you want to use a specific font, you can specify its full name:

Ok, now it works. I looks like the definition takes the index first, not the name of the font.
