Problem with coordinates when importing from one file to another

Hello,

After importing from one .3dm file to another and clicking “Zoom extents”, both file disappear what means the coordinates of both models differ very much. But I use “Set CPlane To Object” before so that the coordinates of both objects are close to zero. What’s wrong?

the cplane as no influence on copy / paste or import
copy / paste and import are always based on world coordinates.

for better understanding, draw something at w0 (world origin) at the source file
for example
_rectangle w0 w200,100
import that as well.

I suspect one of the files has had it’s “ModelBasePoint” changed.
This is the point that is used as 0,0 when that file is inserted into another.
Normally ModelBasePoint is set to 0,0 but there are reasons it can be changed.

Have a look at the Help file article for ModelBasePoint.

I was afraid so. Thanks :slight_smile:

solved ? if yes please mark solution below the post of John or mine - so others don t need to dig in … kind regards -tom

Solved. I just move the model to w0. Thanks.
