Importing Rhino Model Wrong Position?

I have noticed that importing models moves them to a random position instead of placing in place?

For instance I have this model at 0,0,0.

But when I import it into an new empty Rhino file it falls in a completely different place away from 0,0,0?

Worst thing is that if I Copy and Paste it gets placed correctly.

Are we not able to import things correctly now? :skull:

Here the file:
test file 2.3dm (78.9 KB)

I don’t get that message when importing.

I have no idea what that means and how to fix it. Since when is it possible to change Model Base Point?

We should have an option to ignore it when importing.

At least since V6… Didn’t check in V5.

Your current model basepoint is

I’m not sure, but I’m guessing that at some point in the past you got that dialog and chose “Do not show this dialog again.”

The base point used for importing the contents of a file can also be set using ExportWithOrigin. Note that this only changes the base point in the export file. The model base point of the active model is not changed.

I also do not see this image, and do not recall checking “Do not show this dialog again” box. I looked in Options > Advanced and do not see a way to turn it on.

Use ResetMessageBoxes.
