Problem importing DWG file into rhino 8

When I try and import a dwg file into rhino 8, it crashes my whole computer and it isn’t visible. Please help me

Please run SystemInfo command in the command line of Rhino and copy-past its output here.
BTW, could you share the dwg file ? Thank you.

also, when i try and open my Rhino 8 in general, it now crashes my whole computer

It works fine on my side,

Please run SystemInfo command in the command line of Rhino and copy-past its output here.

Try opening Rhino in safe mode and run the SystemInfo command.

Hi Alethea -

A system-wide crash is usually caused by faulty hardware or driver issues. I’d start by making sure that your Windows OS is fully updated and then do a clean install of the latest drivers for your GPU. You can use this recipe:

-wim

Hiya,

Thank you for that! I can now successfully open rhino 8 normal without crashing. However, the DWG still doesn’t appear in the application after I have imported it.

Here is the system info of my normal rhino 8

Hi Alethea -

I’ll need more information here. First of all, when I import that into a new file from the “Small Objects - Millimeters” template and don’t do anything at all after having imported that DWG file, yes, it is not visible in the viewports. When I zoom to extends, the geometry becomes visible.

That doesn’t happen on your end? If so, please post the “DWG/DXF Import Options” that you use when importing that file.
