"Preparing material for first time use"

Since we’ve been in “beta” the time this takes has very suddenly, inexplicably become a real annoyance. My materials are super basic.

Did this get worse compared to the earlier WIP releases?

It seems to have suddenly gotten worse, yes. Kinda hard to actually quantify, of course…

I’ve logged RH-96869 Preparing materials for first time use has gotten worse.

What triggers the need for this? A different beta version? 'Cause yeah this has gone from a minor nuisance to I-can’t-just-casually-show-clients-files anymore.
