PLEASE: Copy to clipboard needs an update asap

Guys, seriously, why in G’s name do you copy all materials to the clipboard even if all we copy are lines or text dots??? It’s ridiculous. Figuring out what materials that are linked to the selected objects can not be rocket science, can it?

Obviously this is a memory hog and not only time consuming to wait for…

So PLEASE bump it up on the todo list.

And on a side note, this file was opened without the linked files, so many textures from those files were “missing” but Rhino still tried to copy them, and obviously it didn’t find the files so then it apparently looked on your server???

And as another side note, I also crashed the other rhino instance when I pasted in a linked file and then did an undo.

Yes… I’d like to see this as well… and for Export. Feels like another advanced option to me, but I’ll nudge the YT item, thanks.

Could Export have “SaveSmall” On as default ?
Any reason why not?

When we export three lines from a file we get ALL materials etc linked with them and that is just not OK.

I’d agree on optional(per installation) default. Not a hard coded one.

I don’t work with materials much but when I do spend time adding materials I want the material copied along.

True, but not every single material in the file, including all linked materials too… only those who belong to the objects. And if none, then none. Right?

Hei Jørgen - obviously there’s a bug to be fixed here, but, generally, I would think that people want to export all that is needed for the objects that are exported.

If you really want, you can, of course, make a macro for a button or even override the Export command with an alias that includes the SaveSmall=Yes option.
