Parametric roof through RiR

Hi,

Just wondering meanwhile, is it possible to do parametric roof like picture below through RiR nowadays (rvt structural frame, brassing…etc)?

ie. Model in GH and create rvt elements.

Sure! This looks very schematic and a good candidate for a direct shape workflow initially, once engineered structural elements could be created.

Hi @Japhy

In fact I was thinking DirectShape at the first place. However when it come to material take-off or scheduling in Revit the DirectShape doesn’t content any values of parameter right?

If you have a shared project parameter you can fill that out and it will appear schedules for that category.

Here’s an example of scheduling and tagging a direct shape

Hi @Japhy

I’ve tested with Add Brep DirectShape, worked.

However, when I tried Add Structural Beam, some geometries couldn’t be made due to the warring “Curve should be C1 continuous”. Does that mean I have to rebuild the curve in order to let it work?
I afraid rebuild the curve would alter the original geometry since the original curves are all intersecting each other as the contour outcome.

These curves aren’t conducive to creating Revit Beams. Converting to Arcs is going to be needed if you require Structural Beams at this point in the project.
