Panel position and toolbar (color) bugs

Hi @Pascal,

i’ve noticed some color issues after installing the newest WIP. By default it seems to reset all colors to dark mode when first launched, even if it was in light mode before the installation.

If i switch it back to light mode, any floating toolbar groops are not colored correctly. It seems, only the background of the active tab control is using light colors, all other tabs stay in dark mode. Also the title bar of the floating toolbar group stays in darkmode. Fortunately, there is an easy fix, Rhino just needs to be reopened and everything is in light mode.

Floating toolbar groups somehow cannot be sized to be a single row high, there is a lot of empty space in a toolbar group, looks like 2 rows high is the minimum even when the toolbar has no icons in the second row.

Another more annoying issue is that panel positions are not remembered. Eg. i have setup my panel layout like this, note the red arrows in the image:

If i close and re-open the WIP, the panels are always resetted to this:

Is this a know issue or should it remember the panel positions ?

thanks,
c.

Hi Clement, I believe the colort stuff should be stable now - if you opened the WIP from today and it was messy, I will have to take that back though.
Container positions should indeed be remembered between sessions and all that has been working well here day to day so it’s a little nervous-making if it is not working out in the world. I would use Window > Window positioins > reset the default one then close and re-open and see if that sticks. If not, you may need to delete/rename

“C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\McNeel\Rhinoceros\8.0\settings\window_positions-Scheme__Default.xml”

-Pascal

Unfortunately, testing with (8.0.22340.12305, 2022-12-06) is a complete mess.

I’ve first did the Window > Window Layouts > Default Window Layout, closed Rhino, reopened it and arranged my panels as in my first image. Then i’ve even stored this as a new window layout. Closed and reopened and i get same as my second image. I’ve then tried to restore the saved layout and it showed wrong position of the object snap bar, the layer panel wasn’t restored at all as a visible panel, it was just missing.

Next i’ve tried to delete window_positions-Scheme__Default.xml, did all above steps again and found that i get the same problems.

I can send a video later tonight showing the color issues with floating toolbar groups.
