Rhino 6.
whenever I click the options gear in the panel menu.
it fills the lower 1/2 of the screen with a blank window.
if I click on the blank space it adds tabs to the panel menu but I have no way of knowing what I am adding.
How can I reload or fix this function.
This is happening on windows 7 and 10.
other option gears work fine.
Thanks
Bob Mo
Hi Bob - can you please run SystemInfo
in Rhino and copy/paste the results here?
-Pascal

Hi Bob - Iâd update this first⌠Notifications panel in Rhino, double-click the notification about the driver and see if you can get a newer one installed.
-Pascal
That was the Nvidia driver.
So I clicked the update link, it make a suggestion, it downloaded the file (431.60-desktop-win8-win7-64bit-international-whql) and following installation it told me the driver was not compatible with the version of windows I have???
This is the choice window I got
Any other clues?
Bob
Hi Bob - see if you can find your card there - GeForce 8400GS - in the dropdown list.
-Pascal
I went the âdevices and printersâ page, in the system control panel.
It did a search to update the driver and it came back that my driver is up to date.
Hi Bob - Windows is a liar about this sort of thing - it looks to me like the latest is indeed pretty old but newer than what you have
(64 bit Windows)
https://us.download.nvidia.com/Windows/342.01/342.01-desktop-win8-win7-winvista-32bit-international.exe
(32 bit Windows)
Does either of those work?
-Pascal
The download and install was successful, however that didnât fix the problem
Thanks for the newer driver!
Here is what my panel menu looks like
when I click the options gear the screen goes gray from under the icon row all the way to the left and down.
I tried to get a screen shot but as soon as I click anywhere it retreats back to what you see below
@Bob_Morazes Do you have an object selected, Bob?
Yeah, this is the menu not painting correctly, I guess - what is your monitor resolution?
-Pascal
That was a virgin file not a line had been drawn in it
1920 x 1080
OK then nothing selected, right? Try drawing a line and a sphere. Bring up the Object Properties panel; it looks like your example in post10. Now select each line or sphere in turn, note how it changes. Are you seeing that?
Properties in Help: The Properties command manages object properties for the selected objects. The availability of the properties is based on the selected object types. For example, points only have Object and Attribute User Text properties. If no objects are selected, viewport properties display.
That part works fine.
Itâs the OPTION gear that doesnât work.
That would be the gear icon all the way to the right.
Hi Bob, and is Windows set to display at 100%?
-Pascal
@Bob_Morazes Bob, is this what you expect on a LEFT click on the âOptions gearâ?
Edit: OopsâŚI said ârightâ and you found out it should be LEFT --sorry!
You WIN
I didnt know what to get on clicking the options gear, but was hoping to be able to manipulate the tabs.
A right click, did the job , and now a left click does what its supposed to as well
I still believe these computer things are a passing fancy!
Thanks for solving the mystery
Bobmo
No, YOU win.
Happy to help.
Edit: see previous post.
