"Offset origin" of the attached model

Similar suggestion is applicable for Layout views when we move or copy them.

Hi @Kalpit_3d

This has been requested since Worksessions came out. For me not being able to set the origin or move a worksession file was a serious determent and limitation to the command. Pretty much a show stopper.

I still use the command occasionally but after using Blenders’ similar commands that allow you to even activate without problems I saw that Rhino was hopeless in this field and the fact the developers after all these years couldn’t even throw us a bone and allow setting an origin and moving the attached file was very depressing and really hindered the workflow of what should have been a really productive command.

actually it is a constant struggle for me because i have to manually move the model and it disturb all my layout views.

  • Also if some layers are hidden then those object remains in the same place.

  • Record history is also disturbed by this movement.

  • Why people are not raising, if there are other alternating methods to resolve such issues, please let us know.

I am on the same boat…

Hi -
I’ve put the feature request on the list as RH-83516 Worksession: Offset Attached File

When it comes to shifting views, you can either show the camera of an active viewport and select its points and move that camera, or create named views and manipulate the widget.

actually i have to do this in each detail of the layout. is there any script to shift the camera and target location of all selected details at once. any hint on achieving such result ?
