Object Alignment for 3D printing

R6 Seat Cowl 2.0 Mounting Base Proto.3dm (1.6 MB)

I am working on a part that I would like to have 3d printed, but I am not sure how to align the objects in a way that is optimal for 3d printing. In the attached file, the layer “assembled” has the objects assembled to compose the complete part. However, the layer “arranged” is the one I am primarily interested in modifying. I would like to align the objects so that their base surfaces are aligned with the working plane (3D printing base).

What is the best way to do this? Gumball? Move and angle adjustment?
Thanks for the help!

Try using the move command (Snap to a base point and move to 0), then with Ortho on, move the objects away from each other so they dont intersect

Thanks for the help, I was able to bring the objects down to the working plane by using the method you recommended and then I used the rotate tool from the side view to match the desired face of the object to the plane.
