this happens to me very often, I usually start from a curve, either created in rhino or one brought from autocad, after extruding it, I end up with a surface that looks very bad, at first I thought it was a matter of the preview but after taking this geometry to lumion for example, it still looks bad, do you know what is the reason and how can I fix it?
Does changing your mesh settings fix the problem?
no, it does not, I think that the problem may be how I model it
Hi Ivo- see if DivideAlongCreases
> SplitAtTangents=Yes helps the display.

It’s NOT. It’s just the render mesh. That’s all. Please folks, don’t go re-modeling things trying to ‘fix’ the render mesh…existing.
Look at the help for how to adjust the detailed mesh settings.
Interesting. It really, really looks like a coarse render mesh issue, which is fixed by using Smooth and Slower check box or adjusting the custom settings.
guys dont forget that objects located far from the origin will exhibit such issues either. adjusting the render mesh may not help then. try placing it to the origin and use refreshshade
