But if feels so alone that down … and the only primitive you can create is the box!
Where are all the other primitives?
Also, same problem with meshes: the only way to get all the mesh tools and primitives is to change the top bar tab.
… but I want to stay on the standard tab all the times!
I like how the Standard Sidebar have a coherent “sequence” at the start:
Curve creation
Curve tools
Surface creation
Surface tools
Solid creation
Solid tools
… why stop?
Here an idea of how I would see it better:
See how I added the button for SubD and Mesh … primitives and tools. Please consider this.
Surfaces and Polysurfaces share the same colors … indeed they are blood related.
(and of course, curve-related commands that work with surfaces have the correct color in the button! Please keep things color-coherent like that!)
SubD commands have a different color. Nice! Maybe make it a little more different from surface color? Actually this is already good.
Meshes, pink, good!
Transformations, green.
Then we have some vague colors in between. Buttons like Project, Join, Group, Ungroup (which are commands that work with many different kind of geometries) could have another different color. Orange maybe?
(Why join “puzzle” is blue now? )
Overall it make SO much more sense to have different set of colors to each category!
If it can be done to a theme called “Goblin Cocaine Vomit” and will never be touched in settings by any sane individual I will definitely be behind this new colorful …thing.
Having a color for each tool class (Mesh, SubD, Surfaces, etc.) is fine, but using those pastel colors, candy colors, is really ugly! A more intense color would be needed. I’ve always liked the classic blue of Rhino icons, but that light blue is horrible! Just one wrong shade and the entire set of icons is ruined.
I would like to point out that the user interface design requires a collaborative effort from a multidisciplinary team. It is evident that there is only one person handling the task of designing the icons, which is a demanding job, especially when colors or shapes need to be adjusted each time for different updates.
I believe it would be beneficial to leverage the expertise of people specialized in UI/UX design, in order to save time and effort while ensuring the best user experience. Having a dedicated team with specialized skills in this field would significantly contribute to improving the quality of work and speeding up the process of future modifications and updates.
