Is there a way to change the default material type for newly created layer from Plaster to Custom?
We almost never need Plaster type, and having to switch to Custom every time adds a lot of extra clicks…

Can this be customized?
I’d prefer Physically Based. I think Custom should be removed altogether.

I thought of an option where the default material could be specified…
@andy can decide what happens there, I was just stating my opinion ![]()
I hope not! We mainly use Custom since it is quite simple yet powerful for in-viewport render mode displays…
But I still hope there could be an advanced option in Rhino that allows user to decide which type of material is assigned by default (Plaster is not a great choice in general). I don’t even see this request on YT, any hope we can still make it work?
