Needing help with plan export to illustrator

Hello,

I am trying to export a plan drawing from rhino 8 and VisualArq to Adobe illustrator for further customisation. I have tried generating a plan drawing using vaPlanView and then using ‘export selected’ to create an Ai file which I can open and edit (VisualARQ plans to Adobe Illustrator - #3 by _MIGUELunderscore). This worked well once or twice and then suddenly I received the below error message every time I tried to open the illustrator files. The recovered file is often missing information and unreliable. I have tried everything possible to overcome this but nothing seems to be able to fix it.

I have tried to look for tutorials online or any resources related to exporting plan drawings to illustrator but have not found any. I really want to maintain the layer structure of the rhino file and to maintain hatch/cut lines etc.

If anyone has any ideas on what could be causing this and any possible fixes, I would greatly appreciate it!! :folded_hands:

Hi @Wiam_Mostefai The plan view of VisualARQ is nothing but Rhino 2D geometry inside a block with some parameters. If you explode it, the result should be the same as if you had created the plan view with Rhino 2D geometry.

Have you tried to open the exported file back in Rhino? do you get any error? If you can attach the file to test it out we can investigate if we get the same problems, unless this looks like something unrelated to VisualARQ, and I’m not sure if we’ll be able to help it.
