Moving roof object changes its internal layers

Hi.
Problem in title.
My roofs change the layer of the objects inside them( the objects inside the roof blocks) when any movement/scaling/rotation is done to them. - not the layer that the block is on. This new geometry wont show up on plan- and section views.

Pic of my roof that has now changed layer:

I make a default gable roof:

I rotate/move it:

Generally the way walls and roofs interact with each other is insanely frustrating. Theres so many bugs that i dont even know where to begin. I dare you,the developers of visualarq, to get building drawing of an existing villa house with sloped roofs, roof rakes and dormer windows - semi complex roof geometry. And try to model up that house. Then make changes - put in a a new dormer window for example. then make a section that looks good. I can supply you drawing if you want.
I have 10+ years of complex modelling experience with rhino/grasshopper, i have a master in computational design, 5+ years or Revit and archicad experince and now 2 years with visualarq and its so SO hard to solve intersections, wall extensions etc. Would be better off with a button that just disables all the auto adjustments and extension. Id rather have dead geometry that i can do what i want with than buggy ‘alive’ geometry. Sorry but i had to air a little frustration. Generally i think its amazing that your making this kind of thing in Rhino and i want to help you make it better.

Best,

Jens

Hi @Jens_Jacob_Melhus_J1 I could reproduce the error of that roof changing color (just updating it). I’ll let you know when we fix it.

Please don’t hesitate to send us cases where the intersections between walls-slabs-roofs is not working well. I understand your frustration, but we need to check each situation individually and find a solution for each case.

That’s fine. Please share the drawing and we will try to face the same situations as yours. We are aware that the roof object is quite simple in terms of the level of detail, but before we make it more complex, we want to ensure there are no intersection errors or other bugs.

In VisualARQ 4 we plan to add more control of which objects intersect to which.

Don’t worry. I hope we can work on these issues and improve the modeling experience with the roof object.

@Jens_Jacob_Melhus_J1 we have fixed the error of the roof changing color after updating it in the 3.8.2 update. You can download it here: Update - VisualARQ
