Hi,
V5
I need to heighten the upper wall edges of the shape, up to the green line in side view, I use MoveEdge, afterwards I see the neat radiused lower edge is lost and the neat surface is now not so neat, walls seem sucked in a bit, visually.
MoveEdge and the other solid editing tools often just turn your geometry into garbage.
The surface you are trying to trim is a composite surface that is really 3 surfaces composed into one. If you run TestSplitAtTangents in Rhino 5 it will turn that surface into a proper polysurface. You can then turn the large bottom surface into a single planar surface with merge face.
Hi Jim,
I was putting too much faith into those tools, I have recently discovered the tools and making great use of them.
so rule of thumb is, do the suggested command TestSplitAtTangents, then use the tools.
