Move SubD region to a surface?

I’m trying to move a region of faces (A-red) of a subD object to a surface (B-green) so that it matches up exactly, the entire surface. Any suggestions on how to do this? There is a pic below and the file is attached.

Thank you,
Sam

One step you can do first is to use Align command and selected the points on the edge you want to move (in red) and use the option curve to align to the green curve.

Then you can use projected to match the position of the internal points to the the surface if you have it… I don’t see it in the file you shared

I left the bottom surface (green) out by mistake. It’s just a patch of the green curve…

Your approach works, thanks!

The only thing I’m wondering is if there is an easier way to select all the points on the bottom (I picked them one by one). any suggestions?

I’m glad it worked for you @samlochner , you might need to do at least one tutorials from @theoutside about subD.
If you pick on point and double-click the second in the direction you want, you will get the loop selected.

Hello- you should be able to use Pull orr Project on the subD vertices or control points here.

I’m still trying to figure out a good way to select all the points on the bottom surface without picking them one by one. Joaquin, I see I can double click a point and that gets the entire loop, but I want just the points on the bottom region and in both directions. I will be doing this quite a bit, but not enough to script it unless really necessary. Any suggestions?

Hello - Lasso, SelBrushPoints - either way you’ll need to be in a useful view. Then of couse NamedSelections will be your friend.

SelBrushPoints did, very nice. It seems like I could spend a lifetime using Rhino and I still wouldn’t know all the nooks and cranies. Thanks Pascal.
