Missing arrows in Rhino 8

I have Rhino 8 and the latest version. I’m very new to Rhino and checked the forums for this issue, which is, occasionally in the Perspective view the gumball will be missing arrows. I see this was something in the past from older postings but looks to still be a problem.

Hi John,

Please run SystemInfo in the Rhino command line and post the results.

Is there any pattern to it or just occasionally? Can you get a screenshot the next time it happens? Thanks

Hi,

Just updated the driver and it seemed to fix the issue. Thanks for the quick reply. I’m following along with a Rhino3d.Education and my view had been from the different than the presenter. BTW, so far I’m amazed at some of things Rhino can do and the support has been EXCELLENT. THX.

Hi Japhy,

Hope you saw my posting. It looks like a driver update fixed what I was seeing. Have an offhand question for you. Do you happen to know of any websites that have an emphasis of using Rhino for woodworking. I used Sketchup and there were a few websites dedicated to using it for woodworking. The more I used Sketchup the more frustrated I would get sometimes and then when they went to the ‘rental model’ I went looking for another product which lead me to Rhino.

So far, I find its capabilities amazing and the product support excellent. Trying to get up to speed as fast I can.

Hi John -

Once you’ve looked at the basic general tutorials, it’s likely best to simply ask specific questions here if you wonder about anything.

A very quick search for woodworking on this forum finds threads like these:

Hi,

I live in East Wenatchee and I was wondering if there are classes offered for learning Rhino. I’m doing several woodworking furniture designs for which Rhino would be incredibly useful for prototyping. I know Sketchup fairly well but I’m finding the learning curve is quite steep for Rhino. Not that I think it is bad product, quite the opposite. It just has so many features that is somewhat overwhelming. Normally, I just grind away to learn something like designing my house in Sketchup. It took sometime but the more I did the more I found it limiting. Rhino on the other hand in comparison is quite incredible. The product support has been beyond what I have ever experienced. I 'm wanting to spend more time in the shop rather than learning Rhino so any recommendations for classes in Washington would be greatly appreciated. Plus if they have any empathizes towards woodworking and furniture design (only wood for me) the better.
