Making polysurfaces from a multitude of unclosed polylines

Hello!

I am trying to turn a multitude of open polylines into polysurfaces or any other kind of surface such as a mesh. Is there any command in Rhino 8 to do this? (See attached photos, where I have made one of them manually into a closed polysurface)

They are all currently open polysurfaces and cant be closed for some reason.

I tried finding similar topics on the forum but could not locate anything.

Any help is appreciated, thanks!

Hei Magnus -

Polysurfaces or polylines? From the picture, it looks like those are lines… Please post 3dm files instead of pictures.

If they are lines that share end points, they can’t all be joined because an open curve can only be joined to one single other open curve at each end. In the corners of a box, there are 3 curves that meet in one point, a so-called non-manifold condition.

You can probably find the bottom profile for each box and extrude those to the correct height by using the closest vertical…

Thank you for your reply!

Yes sorry that was a typo, all open polylines.

Here is the file, thanks.

Open polylines file.3dm (2.7 MB)

Here is one option, using Grasshopper:
