I’m looking for a single step that takes the 8 lines in this example and creates a closed polysurface. I don’t want to have to 2 rail sweep or loft all the lines.
One of my goals is to just may this process more efficient and the other is to end up with a valid closed polysurface that I can manipulate by using the control points from the lines I used to create the surfaces. What happens now, is I lose all my history when I join the surfaces into a polysurface.
Well, if you create all of your surfaces as untrimmed surfaces directly from your curves with History enabled, but Group them instead of joining them, you will be able to tweak the control points on the curves and have everything update. When you’re satisfied, make a copy of the group of surfaces and join them.
Otherwise, there is no automatic procedure in Rhino to do what you want.
You could also reference the curves into Grasshopper and make the surfaces there - even joining them - and then still be able to tweak the curves and have the surfaces update. When happy, Bake.
