Mac - Interface still behind Windows

Hello! A question: if Rhino’s UI is ported to ETO as Nathan mentioned here:

In Rhino 8 more and more of the GUI is being moved on top of that, instead of the age old MFC that the oldest code is built on.

…does this mean Mac and Windows versions UI will automatically become more similar over time?
Just asking out if interest.
