Hi,
I am using mac version of Rhino 5 and cannot work out how to change the text size when dimensioning up my drawings, could anyone help?
Also how to keep the background remaining white when you render the image - it just reverts back to grey even though it is set as white as wireframe, could anyone help?
It would be nice if things like the dimension styles were in the app preferences instead of the file settings, since they’re more likely to be something people will use across multiple files.
Having to import setting and styles from other files, or going through the process of making a template, isn’t ideal.

Dimension styles, line type style definitions and the like are stored in the file so when you send the file to another computer, the dimensions and linetypes look the same. If they were stored in the application preferences then that wouldn’t be possible.
That would be rather tricky. I tend to tweak my personal dimensions (2 or 3 that I use all the time) according to the size of the thing that I’m working on in that file. If I had to add extra dimension styles to the app preferences for each and every time I’m working on something else, my list would be getting very long. If I would not add new styles but just change the ones I have, opening an old project would destroy all dimensions.
As for a template, I feel that that is a necessity - but very simple to do. I have 3 layouts with different title blocks (I understand that that is not yet on the mac version) and a few layers that I keep using in all my models.
I guess i’m thinking of a single-user-multiple-file scenario (how i work) and not a multiple-user-single-file scenario. I can see how having dimension styles tied to each file makes sense in that regard. I guess i’ll just have to make sure i include dimension styles in my default template.
There you go. That’s the reason for template files in the first place.
In addition to dimension styles, also load the linetype patterns, layers, grid settings, hatch patterns, mesh settings, and render settings into your templates.
Later on, when Layouts are added, you’ll be able to include title blocks and the tools needed for printed pages.
