Hi,
with the new Rhino 5 for Mac (Build 5A723) Surface Analysis Zebra and Environment Map has stopped working?
Thanks.
Yep, that’s a new bug in 5A723 and we see it (MR-1573). Thanks for reporting!
Hi,
with the 5A723 Zebra Analysis works but the Environment Map has a bug. When I move or rotate the viewpoint i got this white coat on the objects.
@duke I’m unable to replicate this in 5A732 - the most recent WIP. Are you seeing this white coat in the 5A732? EMap is working fine for me in this build.
I confirm that the viewing perspective in 5A732 something is wrong with the analysis tools.
Edit: A subsequent test the problem occurs in all views.
Try this,

Hi Dan,
same problem on 5A732. White coat appears only If i click to move or rotate. Zebra analysis was OK on 5A723 but with the new 5A732 i have a white coat.
OS X 10.8.5 - iMac 27" late 2012 - 3,2 GHz Intel Core i5 - NVIDIA GeForce GTX 675MX 1024 MB
I try this but with GPU lighting “on” i got white objects.
Just a thought, I don’t use Zebra much. I will check a bit later when I have more time.
@jeff Can you take a look at this?
Version 5A751.
I continue to have display problems with the analysis tools. From tests I’ve made here are my conclusions: 1) once generated a surface, enabling the analysis zebra or environment map, these will work until you change display modes (for example, from shaded to wireframe). 2) sometimes, the display works for a while. 3) The latest version of Rhino in which the tools of analysis work is 5A713. Unfortunately, this version will expire on April 4th. Using very tools of analysis and I hope you can isolate the problem and solve it.

Thanks for mentioning your continued display issue with Emap and Zebra. I have found that if advanced GPU lighting is off for the display mode you’re in, that the emap and zebra map do get displayed but are washed out. This might help in the meantime while the developers look into it. I filed a bug report here as well for future reference.

Version 5A766w
I continue to have display problems with the analysis tools. White coat appears on Zebra and Environment Map when i click to move or rotate. On older versions this commands works fine. Whats happend?
Any news!
The bug report is still listed as open so I think the developer (@jeff) is still working on it. I just tested Emaps in 5A766w and they are working here though so this might be GPU specific.
Zebra is working too…
Clicking and dragging is not causing an issue here either. It might also have to do with the older OS X version you’re using but that’s a guess.
I still have the problem, and unfortunately today I can no longer use the version of Rhino that the command worked.
me to. Same problem with zebra and environment map, but only after used the first time shader view.
On a new model with wired view mode commands work. If I switch to shader view mode and I use zebra and emap command white cover on the objects appear again. Thanks a lot…
New build 5A772w:
Surface Analysis Zebra works.
Environment Map works only on orthogonal views. 3D view is still white covered…
I have build 5A772w on an older MacBook Pro an am experiencing the same problem. Environment Map displays correctly in Ortho views but not in Perspective. Making changes to the lighting scheme does not help. Phil@SimplyRhino UK.
Just downloaded 5A783w and pleased to report that EMAP is fixed!
