I locked several objects including a polysurface and SubD, and their colors did not change from the original Shaded settings, so I went into Shaded> Locked Objects and changed the color and transparency, clicked OK, but still no change. I also toggled the two check boxes below that and still nothing.
Update: I just noticed that it was not showing up only in the Perspective view, so I closed that viewport, and reset the Viewport layout to 4 viewports and now it works.
