Locked object colors not being used in some viewports

I’m noticing an issue where I realized that locked objects weren’t appearing locked in my my shaded view, and resetting the Shaded view mode had no effect. Then I realized the problem wasn’t the view mode, it was a per-viewport thing, one was okay and the others were not, in shaded or wireframe mode. Hitting 4view a couple times to ‘reset’ the viewports did fix it.
