Linetype scale change = Rhino freeze

I imported DWG file (4MB) - a building floor plan. Imported linetype scale is a mess, but when I change it (in Options > Linetypes > Linetype scale), Rhino freezes. I waited several minutes and after I cut the process in Windows task manager.

Fun fact: When I use command “SetLinetypeScale”, it works instantly. So I guess this is a bug.
Rhino 7

Any ideas how to solve this issue?

Hello - by itself, scaling the line type from Document properties seems to be fine here - do you have an example file that shows the problem?

-Pascal

Thanks for your reply. I attached .dwg file that I work with.
NAD_DPS_D_001_011_ARS_201_P01_R00_slep.dwg (4.1 MB)

Also, I noticed problematic scaling of certain annotations that are nested inside block definitions. I don’t necessarily think that it’s connected, but maybe it’s good to point it out as well. Marked in yellow:

@PetrVacek - just so you know, files posted here are public - this seems like you might not want it to be public…?

-Pascal

Thanks for reminder, I know that. There is no vulnerable information in this particular file

Hello- Hm… So far editing the linetype scale is OK here. There is a pause of a second or so.
what should the scale be? I tried 100 and 10, the file opens with 200. maybe that detail matters - I can imagine that if the scaling is reduced to where there might be a very large number of segments to draw, if might be quite slow, but that does not explain why the command line version works.

Can you interact with DocumentProperties on other pages with normal behavior?

-Pascal

Yes, document opens with 200 and I tried 100, 20… It doesn’t matter but it freezes Rhino so I have to cut the process off.

Hmm, interested idea. I opened Doc Prop by clicking RMB LineTypes and then clicked on “Location” just to evaluate interaction. And it got frozen as well! Then I repeated the same with fresh file. First there was no issue in Doc Properties, but when I quickly clicked from one “tab” to another (e.g. Linetype, Location, Hatch and back), I managed to freeze Rhino as well. So it’s probably not related to the .dwg file.

Yep, it smells a bit like a plug-in to me at the moment - please run SystemInfo in Rhino and copy/paste the results here.

Hello - your display drivers are outdated - I would get both from the Intel and NVidia websites respectively, updated to the latest available.
Is ‘Fologram for Rhino’ running? I would completely disable that in Options > Plugins page, then close and reopen Rhino - is there any difference?

-Pascal

Drivers updated (at least to the latest supported version), Fologram disabled. Still the same… :frowning:

Hi @PetrVacek Did you solve the LineType freeze in Rhino 7? I have the same issue.
when I searched Rhino freeze in this forum, there are many topics like this showup. I believe it’s a bug in rhino. I have the same issue with Rhino 6 and Rhino 7, even Rhino 8 WIP.

Hi Matthew -
Please, in Rhino 7, run the Rhino SystemInfo command and copy-paste the result here.
