Layout graphic problems

Hello,

MCH_Tort karton_20240514 VECTOR.pdf (152.2 KB)
when switching to rhino 8, I encountered a project failure. So I started making layouts in rhino as usual, but there were some problems that I had not encountered before in rhino 7. Well, in the case of the PEN view, which I liked to use for axonometry, there were problems with lines. So far, I haven’t used additional drawings, I just made views from the model and dimensioned things that way. Now there are some problems with the display of lines, i.e. when I set vector printing, some lines disappear and some appear, although they should not be visible. When changing to raster, the problem disappears, but I am not satisfied with it. Of course, I can make a drawing, but in the case of axonometry, this is problematic. A very small project as an example.

Hi Krzysztof -

Thanks for that file.
I’m afraid the only workaround at this point is to use Make2D and place the result in details on the layout.
I’ve added a YT to see if we can disable printing details in technical display modes as vector. That would give the same result as what one would get in Rhino 7.

Thanks for your answer, I will try to work out everything in rhino, I have several projects I am working on, maybe I will be able to find a solution  maybe clipping drawing will be such a solution

Hello,

Thank you for your response - I was about to open a new forum post as I have found the same issue. I have several models with mechanical parts and piping. When I place the details on the layout, it looks great in the technical display mode. Yet when I go to print as a PDF, I have missing lines for seemingly no reason.

This is quite a major blow to me as I have to be able to deliver engineering drawings to our contractors.
If Make2D can be used as a workaround, so be it. That will have to do for me for now.

I do hope this issue can be fixed, however, as being able to use detail views of the actual model in Layouts is so much more powerful than relying on Make2D.
