Layers Corrupted in Walls Extended to Roof

My walls here become corrupted unless I delete the roof to which they’re extended.

Hi @djhg,

I have just reported this issue, I will let you know as soon as I have news.

A little later today I will try starting a simpler wall – extended to the roof-- atop a base/wainscot/cap wall as high only as the cap. Please let me know if I can expect that arrangement to be stable.

Hi @djhg the main problem here is that wall layer top/bottom offsets are ignored when walls are extended vertically.

We need to study how to deal with such cases. Some ideas:

  • Provide options to decide which layers are extended and which are not.
  • Ignore top layer offsets when walls are extended upwards, and ignore bottom layer offsets when they are extended downwards.
  • Align the layer offset with the object it has been extended to.

I’d suggest that both the bottom and top limits to layers be expressed as dimensions from the wall base.

Hello,
I think it should be done quite on the contrary  When you need some “upper” element you just set its height - with dimension based on a wall base you have to calculate it… And with extended walls it would be fantastic to have an option to keep this “height” regardless the shape of upper border. I hope you know what I mean.
Cheers, Jaro
