Hi @mirkos , [image] mirkos: By now I think the slowdown in Rhino 8 may happen with files created in Rhino 7. The slow down between V7 and V8 is due to the change in UI library and has nothing to do with the 3dm files coming from V7. – Dale

Hey everyone, thanks for your feedback on this issue. There have been some performance improvements of the Layers panel in 8.9 (the current Service Release Candidate), so please give it a try. That being said, we still need to get this going faster and is still on our list.

I can see a small improvement in the time it takes to create a layer. For my workflow still too slow compared to past Rhino versions, but it’s good to see there is progress. Also panning in the viewport looks faster.

Hi guys, Experiencing the same issue as stated above, unfortunately to the degree that I just rolled back to R7. It’s very disruptive to the workflow, simply can’t use R8.
