Large files open as a blank project

I’m not sure what is causing this problem or when it exactly started. I regularly work with files that are 10gb - 25gb. They are huge files that used to open, but obviously would be very hard to work with. I was still able to get done what I needed to do and export from there.
Now for some reason anytime I try to open a file like this, it hangs on a black screen for a while (normal) then just opens a new, blank project. Just as if I had opened Rhino by itself and started new.
I have tried opening the files from windows explorer, importing the files and inserting the files and I get the same response. This happens on both of my computers.
I don’t see any errors anywhere in the command window. There is no dmp file as Rhino doesn’t crash.
A lot of the time this is happening with OBJ files.
Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Hi Sam, Please run Systeminfo in the Rhino command line and post the result.

Are all the geometries turned on in these files when opening? Is there an opportunity to split out the project via worksessions?

I’m sorry I don’t fully understand the questions you asked about geometries. In some cases I have had to split up the project to get it to work, but it is really not ideal. Most of the time it is not possible.

Here is the systeminfo:

Are they all-mesh files?
When opening a scene, the default is wireframe. So if you have mesh wires off in wireframe display mode, no objects will not be visible
What happens if you SelAll?

Usually yes, they are all mesh files.
SelAll does nothing because there is no open file. It’s a completely empty, blank project.
