Lag with CopytoClipboard

This is another thing I’ve noticed: sometimes when I’m working (especially with a larger file) CopytoClipboard can lag quite a bit (like 30 secs to a minute for the command to run). Any tips for avoiding this?

-Paul

Personally, I’ve also noticed similar behavior with inconsistent copy/paste times in Rhino and in other Windows programs.

Please run the SystemInfo command in Rhino and post your results here.

Copy to clipboard is basically the same as exporting the selected geometry to a temporary file that can then be read from somewhere else when performing a paste. I would like to check to see if there are any third party plug-ins that may be trying to do too much during a copy operation.

Sure, thanks Steve!

Try disabling commandtracker and vray in the plugin manager and restart Rhino. Does this have any effect on the lag in copying to clipboard?

Did disable both and restarted Rhino. It wiped my custom settings for some reason, but didn’t speed up CopytoClipboard.

I think I would need the file that is causing a lag to try and repeat this on my computer.

Sure! Here is the file causing the issue. i will note that before I saved small it was a pretty big file. When I saved small it caused another glitch and shrunk my mouse to a very small size…
