Copy and paste lag

Hello, just downloaded the latest R7 version and have encountered significant copy and paste lag even with very simple objects… can you point me towards a fix for this…

Seems like a very basic issue?

WELCOME @tim13
Suggest you do a forum Search

you are correct in pointing out that there are many threads about this but none have a solution.

even though people tend to overlook searching first before posting, i think since this has been going on for a while now with multiple posts and none having a fix, multiple posts are kind of warranted to get attention and to show how many people are being affected.

i know mcneel is on it and not ignoring the issue though.

In theory, this was supposed to have been more or less fixed in 7.3…

Since he said “Hello, just downloaded the latest R7 version…” I wonder if it has been completely fixed or if there is some special case.

@tim13 Please run the SystemInfo command in Rhino and copy/paste the results here.

Here you go… seems to only have the problem working with files that were created in Rhino 5 and 6. Working with new files created in 7 the problem doesn’t exist.

I would update to the current 7.3 or even the 7.4 Release candidate and try again.

You could update your video drivers I guess as well - the Intel is almost a year old, and the Nvidia is about 7 months old…

I can’t detect any noticeable lag with earlier version files opened in V7 (7.4 RC). If it’s still happening after you do the above, please post back here.

where do you download release candidates for v7? also where is a consistent place to read release notes? i wish they would get pinned.

Set your update frequency to Release candidates in “Updates and Statistics”.

Thanks @Helvetosaur the 7.4 release seems to have solved the copy paste problem.
