after download i try to open a file but it just open a window and a plan popup come up at the same time and I can do nothing. it don’t react.
Hi -
I’m not sure what that means. Can you post a screenshot? If Rhino starts, can you run the SystemInfo
command? If so, please copy the result of that command an paste it in a post here.

hi wim
i start the program open the file and then it sticks there. i ‚m also not able tho close the program
Hanko Stensland
But can you open a new blank file?
Hello- it may be that you are running an older build where this ‘stuck dialog’ thing was a problem for a while. If you can open Rhino with no file, please run SystemInfo
and copy/paste the results here.

Yes I can
Hanko Stensland
OK, can you for example draw a few curves, save the file, close, and re-open it? If so how about if you make something a bit more stressing like 1,000 spheres in shaded mode and save that - can you re-open that file? What I’m trying to see here is if there is something in the files you are trying to open that is causing this.
Looks like you have dual (hybrid) graphics processors, not sure how it works on Mac, but on Windows there is a possibility to force Rhino to use the better Nvidia/AMD discreet graphics card, not the on-board Intel one, which is weak.
It is one file what is causing that problem, but it is also not opening some other dog files.
The test as you mentioned worked.
can I attach the file?
Hanko Stensland
@hb1 Open a new blank file and then run the Import command to import the file that won’t open for you. Does that work? If so, I bet the display mode the file was saved in is the issue on your Mac and it’s getting hung up trying to create the viewports. This Import workaround will bring the model in as wireframe.
Any luck?
If the file can be posted publicly, you can post it here by dragging and dropping it inot a message window, or by using the upload button :
I think the limit is around 10Mb though. If the file zipped is bigger than that you will need to use a transfer service and post a link here to download. Otherwise, if the file is private, you can upload it directly to McNeel here:

Hi Brian
It do not work.
Hanko Stensland
Hey, I wouldn’t post my personal details publicly on the internet like this. Your name is fine, but I’d hide the rest, especially your adress and phone number. There’s even no need to share your email, since users can contact you via the internal messaging system, but I’d at least obfuscate it, so that it’s harder for bots to scrape it.
Sharing your personal information opens you up to spamming and even worse social engineering attacks!
Post the file that doesn’t open here please or email it to tech@mcneel.com with a link back to this forum thread. We’ll need to look at the file to make a guess as to why it won’t open for you on your Mac. My only other thought is to update your macOS which in turn updates your graphics drivers. This may solve the issue.
Yes, I PM-ed the user about this the other day. @hb1 - did you get that note? You should remove your personal info from this public forum.
-Pascal
I edited his posts to remove his personal info for security sake.
