File will not open in rhino 7

Hi,

I have just upgraded my Rhino 6 to Rhino 7 and I am finding that it is incredibly slow at opening files sometimes it point blank won’t open them.

I just get the swirl for up to 10 minutes then get presented with this screen which is not clickable and rhino is not quit able only force quit works to close it.

If make a new file in rhino 7 save and close then open it again then it works fine which is why I am assuming its an issue opening rhino 6 files in rhino 7.

Thanks
Callum

if it does stop loading then this screen comes up

Hi Callum -
Could you post a 3dm file that behaves like this?
Also, run the Rhino SystemInfo command and copy-paste the result here.
Thanks,

Says it cannot upload file when it gets to about 25%? Any other way to get it to you?

Thanks
Callum

Rhino 7 for Windows opens the file in several seconds on my system. There is a pop-up warning about a missing font.

@k1716868 - Hi Callum - It looks like Rhino for Mac for some reason does not like the maximized viewport. I saved it with 4 views and will upload it for you - you’ll get an email with a link. Thanks for the report.
Actually, you can try, while Rhino is trying to open the file, typing (even though there is nowhere to type, really) testCloseLoadingWindow.

Hm - maybe something else happening as well - I’ll just upload the file - it looks like there may be another dialog stuck, maybe the font one.

@k1716868 In the meantime, while this open bug gets looked into, try starting a new blank file and then use Import to bring in the 3dm that is having the issue. This works here.

Looks like it was this dialogue that could not be displayed.

Thank you. I have the same issue and typing “testcloseloadingwindow” works for mine!
